Save the British Cocks

Millions of cocks are killed every year

Sorry for being a bit juvenile, but did you know that millions of cocks – or male chicks as you might know them – are killed every year in Britain? Not because they’re sick or suffering – but simply because they’re male and can’t lay eggs.

Within hours of hatching, they’re thrown in meat grinders and turned into animal feed or biogas. Across much of Europe – in France, Germany, Italy, and Norway – this cruelty is being banned.

But in Britain? The killing continues. The industry still looks the other way.

The Initiative

This initiative exists for one simple reason: to stop millions of British cocks from being killed every year. Because they can’t produce eggs, they’re discarded – seen as serving no purpose. It’s horrific and completely unnecessary.

The technology to stop this mass slaughter already exists. Today, it’s fully possible to determine at an early stage whether an embryo will develop into a hen or a cock. In practice, this means the process can be stopped before the embryo develops into what’s classified as sentient life – avoiding the killing altogether.

This method is already in use in several other countries. But not in so-called pioneering Britain.

Our mission is simple: to put pressure on British decision-makers to end this cruelty. And that’s why we’re reaching out to you.

Thank you for helping us put an end to this unnecessary suffering. Thank you for standing up for the British cocks.
